Dungeonborne, the PvPvE action game drawing inspiration from the popular Dark and Darker, is shutting down. Its creators have announced the end of support and the closure of its servers, bringing a close to a project that lasted less than a year. Low player activity and a lack of substantial updates ultimately led to the game's demise.
While the game's Steam page remains accessible via direct link, it's no longer discoverable through the platform's search function. The official reasons for the shutdown haven't been publicly stated, but the extremely low player count is undoubtedly a major factor. Since late 2024, concurrent player numbers rarely exceeded 200, dwindling to a mere 10-15 players in recent days.
Dungeonborne's servers will permanently close on May 28th, marking the definitive end of this title. What initially promised a compelling experience for fans of the genre will now fade into gaming history, its potential unrealized.
