SPOILER WARNING: This article contains spoilers for Yasuke’s personal story and the Templar involvement in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
Following rumors of past adversaries reappearing in Japan, Yasuke’s Past quests require completing the Templar Hunt Objective Board. This guide details locating and eliminating each Templar target in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, beginning with Kimura Kei.
How to Find the Templar Kimura Kei in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
Your first clue about Kimura Kei’s whereabouts comes from a ronin informant in Kii. Find him at the Takahara Village inn along the central Nakahechi Route (use Scouts if needed; the building is marked with green flags near a cherry blossom tree). He'll direct you to Kumabe Ujiie.
Where to Find Kumabe Ujiie
Kumabe Ujiie is in northern Kii, at a cemetery in Koyasan, northeast of Kongobuji Temple. He's with ronin escorts; avoid confrontation. Choose the "I seek guidance" dialogue option to learn Kimura Kei's location.
How and Where to Assassinate Kimura Kei
Kimura Kei's training grounds are southwest Kii, north of the shore, midway between Sazae Oni Shores and Nakahechi Route. Follow his students to find him. He'll recognize Yasuke, initiating a confrontation.
Expect numerous ronin attacks. Utilize your best armor and weapons. Exploding red barrels along the path offer tactical advantages. This is a multi-phase boss fight; stealth assassination is impossible. Equip armor enhancing parry capabilities against his unblockable attacks.
Phase 1: Kimura Kei uses a standard katana. Parry his attacks, exploit vulnerabilities, and utilize posture attacks and abilities. Phase 2 (near armor break): He switches to a long katana and standard katana, increasing unblockable attacks. Prioritize dodging and strategic strikes. The final phase (half health) moves outdoors, with significantly powerful unblockable attacks. Maintain distance, dodge frequently, and utilize ranged attacks (bow or teppo).
Rewards for Killing Kimura Kei in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
Defeating Kimura Kei grants 3,000 XP, mon, the Templar-themed Destroyer Samurai Armor (impact reduction engraving), and Helmet (10% damage boost per 10% missing health).
How to Find the Silver Queen in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
After defeating all Shinbakufu, the Silver Queen appears on the Templar Board, aiding Portuguese pillaging in Tamba. You’ll need to speak with informants.
Where to Find and Talk to The Spy
The spy is in southeast Tamba’s Silver Lands, sitting on a rug under a structure near a cart and crates. He reveals the Silver Queen’s location.
Where to Meet the Silver Queen
Find the Silver Queen in Tada, northeast of Tada Kakurega, speaking with Portuguese soldiers. Follow her home, where drugged tea leads to a confrontation in Tada Silver Mine.
How to Escape from Tada Silver Mine
Upon awakening, break out of your locked room. Stealth is recommended to navigate the mine, eliminating guards discreetly.
How to Locate Akechi Mitsuyoshi
The Silver Queen requests Yasuke’s aid in rescuing her brother in exchange for information. Head north towards Kameyama Castle (replenish supplies at the Kakurega north of Senneji Temple if needed). Use Pathfinder to navigate Kameyama Castle, eliminating guards en route. A bleeding servant provides a key to the castle’s Tenshu.
How to Free Akechi Mitsuyoshi and Retrieve His Katana
Use the key to access Akechi Mitsuyoshi’s cell. Escort him through the castle, eliminating threats. Retrieve his katana from Baltazar after a fight (prioritize eliminating surrounding soldiers). Utilize abilities and posture attacks to quickly defeat Baltazar. After retrieving the katana, proceed to Atago Shrine to meet Akechi Mitsuyoshi and receive the next target's location.
How to Find and Assassinate Nuno Caro
Nuno Caro, Yasuke’s final target, is preparing to leave Japan at Takeda Castle (western Tamba). Use Pathfinder to navigate the winding mountain road. Disable alarm bells strategically. The encounter with Nuno Caro begins at the castle's double doors. Engage in combat as you ascend the castle. The final confrontation occurs at the top; Nuno Caro wields a sword and pistol. Parry or block his sword attacks, dodge his pistol shots, and use abilities to deal significant damage.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows is available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S since March 20th.
