Gems are crucial in Dynasty Warriors: Origins, providing significant battlefield advantages. This guide details how to craft and utilize these powerful items.

Unlocking Gem Crafting:

To begin crafting, you must first progress to Chapter 1 and join Liu Bei's Volunteer Army. Visiting an Inn will trigger a letter from Zhang Fei, introducing Gems and their raw material, Pyroxene.

Acquiring Pyroxene:

Pyroxene is found throughout the overworld as large, jewel-like formations. These spawn randomly, so explore thoroughly during your travels between battles. Completing side quests, collecting Old Coins, and reading Inn letters also yield Pyroxene.

Crafting Gems:

Once you've gathered Pyroxene, return to an Inn to begin crafting. The crafting process is randomized; the number of Pyroxene used doesn't affect the type of Gem created. However, a white glowing aura around a Gem type in the crafting menu indicates that only Gems of that type can be crafted during that visit.

Gem Enhancement:

Repeatedly crafting a specific Gem type enhances its effects. These enhancements are primarily buffs. Since you can only equip one Gem at a time initially, strategic Gem selection is vital. Consider the Wellspring Gem (health regeneration per enemy kill) for large-scale battles, and the Ascendence Gem (increased officer attack block chance) for duels. While initially minor, these buffs become increasingly impactful over time.
