Marvel's Moon Knight: Future Appearances Confirmed, But No Season 2
While a second season of Moon Knight on Disney+ is off the table, Marvel has confirmed Oscar Isaac's character will return to the MCU in a different capacity. Brad Winderbaum, head of Marvel Television, confirmed this in an interview with ComicBook.
The shift away from a Season 2 stems from a change in Marvel Television's strategy. Initially, the focus was on establishing characters through standalone series before integrating them into larger MCU projects (similar to Ms. Marvel's introduction before The Marvels). Now, the approach is more aligned with traditional television, aiming for annual releases.
Winderbaum stated, "Moon Knight happened in a wave of shows that were going to establish characters that would tie-in to the future...moving forward our priorities have shifted. We’re making shows as shows that can exist as annual releases, more like television. I would love to see a Moon Knight Season 2, but there are plans for Moon Knight down the road.”
While Isaac voiced Moon Knight in Marvel's What If…?, his live-action return remains unannounced.
The MCU's upcoming television slate includes Daredevil: Born Again (March), Ironheart (June), Eyes of Wakanda (August), Marvel Zombies (October), and Wonder Man (December). Meanwhile, development on Nova, Strange Academy, and Terror, Inc. has been paused, though Winderbaum hinted at the possibility of a Defenders reunion.
