A Modern Revival of a Classic
Metal Slug: Awakening offers a fresh take on the beloved 90s franchise. Initially revealed in 2020 by TiMi Studios as Metal Slug Code: J, the game has seen some delays and name changes. Following its Southeast Asian release in late 2023, it's finally ready for a worldwide launch.
For the uninitiated, Metal Slug is a renowned Japanese run-and-gun series, first launched in 1996 by Nazca Corporation and later expanding into a multimedia franchise. While previous mobile entries like Metal Slug Defense, Metal Slug Attack, and Metal Slug Commander have existed, Awakening promises enhanced features and gameplay.
This new installment stays true to the original's core mechanics but boasts updated graphics and innovative gameplay elements. Reunite with your favorite characters in new missions, explore a World Adventure mode, team up with friends in 3-player co-op, and conquer challenging Roguelike levels.
