This year's Pokémon Sleep winter holiday event brings two adorable new Pokémon: Eevee in a Santa hat, Pawmi, and Alolan Vulpix! Let's dive into how to catch them.
Pawmi and Alolan Vulpix Debut in Pokémon Sleep
The Holiday Dream Shard Research event, running the week of December 23rd, marks the arrival of Pawmi and Alolan Vulpix. Expect boosted encounter rates and bonus Dream Shards throughout the event. Shiny versions will also be available.
Catching Pawmi
Pawmi appears starting December 23rd at 3 PM on Greengrass Isle, Snowdrop Tundra, and Old Gold Power Plant. Its Snoozing sleep type (a common, light sleep) significantly increases encounter chances. While Pawmi evolves into Pawmo and Pawmot using Candies, their sleep styles can only be studied through wild encounters. A Balanced Sleep type might also yield Pawmi, but with reduced odds.
Catching Alolan Vulpix
Alolan Vulpix, appearing alongside Pawmi on December 23rd at 3 PM, is rarer. It's found exclusively on Snowdrop Tundra. Its Slumbering sleep type (requiring a deep, 8-hour sleep) makes encounters less frequent. Like Pawmi, a Balanced Sleep type offers a smaller chance.
Best Island for the Holiday Event
For optimal chances of catching both Alolan Vulpix and Pawmi, target Snowdrop Tundra during the event. Note that Snowdrop Tundra has higher team requirements, so prepare accordingly.
Pokémon GO is available on iOS and Android.
