Battle of Sudoku: A Multiplayer Sudoku Showdown!
Love Sudoku and want to challenge friends? Battle of Sudoku is a multiplayer version where you compete against other players or teams. The goal is classic Sudoku: fill a 9x9 grid with digits 1-9, ensuring each row, column, and 3x3 subgrid contains all digits.
Before starting, adjust the difficulty (1-6, 1 being easiest, 6 hardest) in the game options. This sets the initial numbers, which all players must solve simultaneously. Everyone begins with the same puzzle.
Game Modes:
The "Show correct numbers of your opponent" option (in game options) determines visibility. Enabled, every correct number placed is shown to all players. Each correct number earns points, but you can't place a number already used by another player. Disabled, only your own correct numbers are visible, allowing multiple players to earn points for the same number.
Time-Outs:
Incorrect numbers result in a time-out, preventing further actions while others continue. The time-out duration is customizable (default: 30 seconds).
Points:
Correct numbers earn points, with higher difficulty levels awarding more points per correct number. Incorrect numbers deduct points (half the value of a correct number).
Winning:
The game ends when the puzzle is solved. The player with the most points wins. If the "Show correct numbers" option is disabled, the game ends when one player solves it, though this doesn't grant extra points; others can still win with fewer mistakes.
Team vs. Individual Play:
A team mode lets two teams compete. Join a team (1 or 2), and once at least two players join a team, they officially form that team. Points are added to the team's total score. Notes and filled colors are shared among teammates, enabling collaborative strategies.
Solving Tools:
A toolbar under the puzzle provides tools:

Pen Tool: Add notes to empty squares using the pen icon. Clicking a square with a selected number adds that number as a note; clicking again removes it.

Fill Mode: Change the background color of squares using the paint bucket icon.
