Local accounts describe a woman in a white dress, carrying a Petromax lamp, entering the inn shortly before the fire. However, Nurul, a former employee, disputes this, suggesting the fire was an act of revenge against a dishonorably dismissed staff member. The identity of this staff member remains undisclosed.
