Remedy Entertainment's ambition: To become Europe's answer to Naughty Dog. Inspired by Naughty Dog's cinematic masterpieces like the Uncharted series, Remedy Entertainment, led by Alan Wake 2 director Kyle Rowley, aims for similar heights. Rowley, in a Behind The Voice podcast interview, explicitly stated their aspiration to be "the European version of Naughty Dog."
This ambition is clearly reflected in Alan Wake 2's cinematic presentation, renowned for its stunning visuals and gripping narrative. The game's success has cemented Remedy's position as a leading European game studio. Their aspirations extend beyond the horror genre, mirroring Naughty Dog's mastery of single-player cinematic experiences, exemplified by the iconic Uncharted and The Last of Us franchises – the latter being among the most decorated in gaming history.
Alan Wake 2 continues to receive updates, even over a year post-launch. These updates enhance gameplay across all platforms, notably optimizing the game for the PS5 Pro. A new "Balanced" graphics mode has been introduced, cleverly combining aspects of the PS5 Pro Performance and Quality modes.
These refinements include minor adjustments to graphic settings, resulting in a smoother framerate and reduced visual noise. In addition to the PS5 Pro enhancements, the update addresses several minor gameplay bugs, particularly within the Lake House expansion.
