The next major expansion for Albion Online, Abyssal Depths, now has an official release date. Prepare to dive deep below the surface when the update launches for Android on June 30. This release introduces a new PvP environment and several volcanic-themed mounts.
What’s in Store?
The focus of this update is the Depths, a new extraction-style dungeon designed for groups of two to three. These instanced dungeons thrust players into intense, close-quarters PvP where the stakes are high, but your equipped gear is secure. Under the new Orange PvP rule set, you only forfeit the loot you are carrying upon death, not the items you have equipped.
This change encourages more players to experiment with PvP without the fear of losing hard-earned gear. Once a Depths run begins, you will battle demons and other players to secure powerful buffs and collect Souls. The climax involves a frantic PvP struggle for a locked vault just before the dungeon implodes.
This new game mode is integrated into a fresh ecosystem centered on the Antiquarian’s Den. This underground hub provides direct access to the Depths, Corrupted Dungeons, and Hellgates. It can be reached from every Royal City and Caerleon, and it features expedited matchmaking with a bank conveniently located nearby.
The Den is also home to the Antiquarian, a mysterious entity that monitors your activities. Your Antiquarian Standing increases based on your performance in the Depths and other infernal zones. Get a first look at the Abyssal Depths in action in Albion Online.
Rewards available through the Den include a hellfire-themed avatar and avatar ring, alongside Demon Cape crests from Tier 4 to Tier 8. The update also adds two unique arachnid mounts: the Hellspinner and the Soulspinner.
