After extensive testing and community collaboration, we've cracked the code for all three Arata stages in GHOUL://RE. While these stages don't demand high gaming skills or extensive exploration, they require substantial Reputation grinding. Brace yourself for a long haul!
Arata Stage 1 in GHOUL://RE
To begin your journey, you need to gather 25,000 Reputation points and reach the rank of Special Investigator within the C.C.G. organization. Head to the Commission of Counter Ghoul center and find Damiro D. Mado on the second floor. He'll task you with collecting 10 one-eyed fragments and 10 Kokuja fragments.

The most efficient way to obtain these fragments is by defeating bosses like Eto and Tatara, and then crafting them at the crafting table. Check your Reputation with Saiyo Natsuki, the NPC in the black suit and tie. Once you've gathered all 20 fragments, combine them into five one-eyed Kokuja fragments at the crafting station. Return to Damiro, and he will direct you to speak with "him". This mysterious figure is the Black Reaper of Doom And Despair, hidden in plain sight. For more on NPC locations, check our guide on all NPC locations in GHOUL://RE.
Arata Stage 2 in GHOUL://RE
For Arata stages 2 and 3, you must switch to permadeath (PD) mode to acquire the legendary armor. It's advisable to team up with strong allies, as solo missions can be challenging.
Once you've amassed 100,000 Reputation points, head to the elevator in the C.C.G. building to reach the Laboratory. Speak to Black Reaper of Doom And Despair, the man with the scalpel in a black suit by the door. Hand over five one-eyed Kokuja fragments, and with your 100,000 Reputation, you'll unlock Arata-Proto armor Stage 2.

There's been much debate about the necessary Reputation, with some suggesting 75,000 or between 90,000 and 100,000. Our testing confirms that 100,000 Reputation points are essential for guaranteed success. Remember, stages 2 and 3 must be played on PD servers to progress.
Arata Stage 3 in GHOUL://RE
The final stage also involves Black Reaper of Doom And Despair, requiring a one-eyed Kakuja fragment and 500,000 Yen. In PD mode, visit him at the C.C.G. building. After payment, he'll teleport you to face Kishou Arima.

Defeating Kishou Arima requires some skill, involving jumping, dodging, blocking, and dealing significant damage. Prepare thoroughly, as failure means another payment of one-eyed Kakuja fragment and 500,000 Yen per attempt. Upon victory, you'll unlock Stage 3 Arata-Proto armor, a powerful but demanding piece of gear.

Arata-Proto Armor Buffs
While Arata armor provides formidable buffs, it drains your hunger rapidly, and you can't eat while wearing it. You'll need to remove it to replenish your hunger. However, the benefits are immense: you won't be ragdolled, and your character becomes incredibly "tanky", able to sustain and deal massive damage. Be cautious, as the armor will start consuming your health bar if your hunger depletes during combat. Remove it if necessary to heal.

Reputation Grinding
The quickest way to farm the required Reputation is by battling bosses in PD mode, earning 1,500 Reputation per boss compared to 500 outside PD. Killing Ghouls yields only 100 Reputation per kill, making them less efficient for Arata quests.
