After finishing the main quest in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, the world remains open for you to explore. The game’s vast landscape is filled with side content, allowing you to delve deeper into Feudal Japan without any restrictions. You can continue to explore and engage with everything the game has to offer.
Additionally, the Animus will introduce new weekly challenges post-launch, ensuring that even after achieving 100% completion, there will be fresh content to keep you engaged.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows Epilogue and Endgame Explained
Even after the credits roll, your journey in Assassin’s Creed Shadows might not be over. In my playthrough, the credits appeared after completing the Shinbakufu Objective Board and the main quests for Yasuke and Naoe. However, I still needed to unlock the trophy for finishing Act 3 and The Epilogue.
To experience the true ending and epilogue, you must complete the personal stories of Naoe, Yasuke, and Junjiro. After that, return to the Hideout and speak with Tomiko. This will unlock the complete ending and the associated achievements.
At the end of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, you can also earn exclusive gear themed around the Assassins for Naoe and the Templars for Yasuke. These armor sets come with unique perks that enhance each protagonist’s playstyle and are designed to delight long-time fans of the Assassin’s Creed series.
As for endgame content, you can continue to level up your characters to the game’s maximum level cap long after the credits have rolled.
What’s Next For Assassin’s Creed Shadows?
While the main story of Assassin’s Creed Shadows concludes at launch, there's much more to anticipate. New content will be added through the Animus, and the in-game store is expected to be updated with new items. Moreover, a story expansion titled The Claws of Awaji is set to release later in 2025, adding over 10 hours of content and taking players to the new location of the Island of Awaji.
