Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator's Global Server to Shut Down
Sad news for global players of Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator. Koei Tecmo and Akatsuki Games have announced the End of Service (EOS) for the game's global version, effective March 28th, 2025. This comes just over a year after its January 2024 launch. The Japanese version, launched in September 2023, will continue operation.
The Inevitable Closure
The irony is palpable: the global server's closure coincides with the Japanese server's 1.5th-anniversary celebrations. In-game purchases are already disabled, but players can still utilize existing Lodestar Gems until the shutdown. Koei Tecmo promises continued events and content leading up to the final day. The global version's first anniversary was celebrated on January 25th, only to be followed by this announcement.
Reasons for the Shutdown
The developers cited an inability to maintain satisfactory player standards as the reason for the closure. The game struggled to gain traction, with player complaints surfacing almost immediately after launch, particularly regarding the gacha system. While the main characters received positive feedback, issues with gameplay, monetization, and excessive power creep ultimately contributed to the game's underperformance.
Final Farewell
Global players can still access the game on the Google Play Store to say their final goodbyes. Meanwhile, those seeking a new mobile gaming experience might consider exploring other titles, such as the current Sky: Children of the Light Lunar New Year event.
