Azur Lane Scylla: Class, Skills, Gear, Optimal Fleets Guide

Author : Lillian May 15,2025

HMS Scylla, a Super Rare (SR) 6-star light cruiser in Azur Lane, embodies the Royal Navy's Dido-class and was introduced during the "Revelations of Dust" event. Obtainable through limited construction, Scylla stands out with her exceptional anti-air capabilities and supportive skills, making her an invaluable asset in various fleet compositions. This guide delves into her class, abilities, and gear requirements, helping players harness her full potential. Let's dive in!

Scylla – All Skills Explained

Like other ships in Azur Lane, Scylla boasts three distinct abilities that can significantly impact combat scenarios:

How Pathetic – With each Main Gun firing, Scylla's Firepower (FP) and Anti-Air (AA) stats increase by 1.5% (up to 5%) per stack, stacking up to six times. Once fully stacked, she boosts the AA stats of all Vanguard ships with lower AA by 15% (up to 25%) for the remainder of the battle.

Scylla’s Embrace – At the start of the battle, if other ships are in the Vanguard, Scylla's Torpedo (TRP) and Evasion (EVA) stats increase by 10% (up to 20%). When firing torpedoes, she unleashes a special barrage (damage scales with skill level), causing enemies hit to suffer 6% increased aircraft damage for 6 seconds. Additionally, if six enemy aircraft are downed within the Vanguard’s AA gun range, allied carriers (CVs and CVLs) receive a 5% (up to 15%) damage reduction while Scylla remains afloat.

All Out Assault – This skill triggers a special barrage every 15 (down to 10 at max level) Main Gun attacks. When equipped with a Destroyer (DD) Main Gun, the activation requirement drops to six attacks.

Gear Recommendations for Scylla

To optimize Scylla’s performance, consider the following equipment:

Main Gun: A Destroyer Main Gun accelerates the activation of her All Out Assault skill, enabling more frequent barrages.

Torpedoes: High-damage torpedoes enhance her torpedo efficiency and capitalize on the special barrage from her “Scylla’s Embrace” skill.

Anti-Air Guns: Given her high AA stat and role, the best AA guns available will bolster her fleet protection against aerial threats.

Auxiliary Equipment: Items that boost her AA capabilities or enhance survivability, like AA radars or repair tools, are recommended.

Class and Role in Fleets

As a Dido-class light cruiser, Scylla specializes in anti-air defense within the Vanguard. Her skills not only enhance her combat prowess but also significantly support the fleet, particularly by boosting AA defenses and reducing damage to carriers.

Best Fleet Compositions for Scylla

Scylla thrives in fleets requiring robust anti-air support and synergies with carriers. Consider these fleet setups:

Carrier-Centric Fleets: Pairing Scylla with carriers leverages her “Scylla’s Embrace” skill to reduce incoming damage, enhancing fleet durability.

Vanguard Combinations: Combining Scylla with other light cruisers or destroyers with complementary skills forms a balanced Vanguard capable of handling both aerial and surface threats.

In summary, HMS Scylla is a versatile light cruiser whose skills and stats make her a formidable anti-air asset and a supportive presence in various fleet compositions. Proper equipment and fleet positioning can significantly enhance overall performance, especially in scenarios with heavy aerial opposition.
