A Baldur's Gate 3 mystery: a $500 bounty for a bizarre Karlach cutscene. A YouTuber is offering a reward to anyone who can organically trigger a unique cutscene featuring Karlach, the fiery companion, seemingly breaking the fourth wall.

The game's popularity is partly due to its incredible detail, but this particular moment has baffled players. The cutscene, initially discovered through modding, suggests Karlach gains self-awareness beyond the game's narrative. The challenge is to replicate this without using mods.

Proxy Gate Tactician (PGT), the YouTuber offering the bounty, believes the cutscene may be inaccessible in the vanilla game despite player claims to the contrary. Previous data mining seemingly confirms this. However, Karlach's voice actress, Samantha Beart, hinted at the cutscene's existence, fueling the mystery.

The $500 reward is offered to the first player who records and uploads a video showing how to trigger the cutscene without mods before Baldur's Gate 3 Patch 7's September release. The video must clearly demonstrate the cutscene's triggering method and be brought to PGT's attention.

The possibility remains that this cutscene was removed during development, making the challenge incredibly difficult, if not impossible. Even if no one claims the bounty, the ongoing investigation could lead to further discoveries by dataminers regarding the cutscene's intended function. For now, it remains an intriguing enigma within the rich world of Baldur's Gate 3.
