How to Start The Lion’s Crest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2
Once you've completed the tutorial in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* and ventured into the open world, your next step is to talk to the scribe Gaibl in Troskowitz. He'll initiate The Lion’s Crest quest by presenting you with a riddle and the smithing recipe for Brunswick’s polearm. You'll need to gather the materials on your own, but crafting this weapon at the blacksmith’s forge will be well worth the effort.
The Lion’s Crest Riddle Solution
The riddle you need to solve is as follows:
*“Take your leave of crone and maiden, standing tall behind the gates, boldly go towards true midnight, in caverns cold your prize awaits. Pass through the hall of forest kings, hidden deep from hunters’ gaze, standing tall two guards of stone, behind who yearned for treasure lays. Between then stands a mighty rock, a subtle niche yet deeper still, a place to give one’s heart to God, behold my armour gleaming still.”*
To crack this riddle, head to Trosky Castle where you'll find the Crone Tower and Maiden Tower. Exit the castle through its northern gates and continue north into the forest.
Follow the road and keep an eye on the left side for rocky formations with small crevices. Navigate through these crevices to discover a cave that contains a chapel. Inside, inspect the cross on the rock next to the chapel to uncover the first piece of Brunswick’s Armour, along with two treasure maps to guide you further in the quest.
Map 1
The first treasure map directs you to continue westward along the road that led to the chapel. At the crossroads, veer north into the woods until you reach a wolf den. Search the trees just above the den to find a bag containing the second piece of Brunswick’s armour.
Map 2
The second map guides you to Vidlak Pond’s small outpost. Follow the path behind the fisherman’s house, and watch for a large rock formation along the cliffs. Climb to the rocks to locate a chest next to a cross.
Map 3
For the third map, fast travel to Zhelejov and head to the tavern, then leave the settlement. Cross the two bridges towards Tachov, but after the second bridge, take a small path leading to the river and forest. Follow this path to a hill, and inspect the large tree at the top to find bones and a bag with the armour.
Map 4
The fourth and final map leads to a hill between the Nomads’ Camp and Bozhena’s Hut. On the hill, search for rocks with a cross on top to claim the final piece of Brunswick’s armour.
