Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Beta Test Dates Revealed!
Get ready, Call of Duty fans! The official Call of Duty podcast has confirmed the beta testing dates for Black Ops 6. This two-part beta offers early access and open access periods. Learn how you can participate.
Two-Phase Beta Access
Activision announced a two-stage beta rollout:
- Early Access (August 30th - September 4th): Available to those who pre-ordered Black Ops 6 or have active subscriptions to select Game Pass plans.
- Open Beta (September 6th - 9th): Free for everyone!
Mark your calendars! The full game launches October 25th, 2024, on PC (Steam), Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4. It will also be available on Xbox Game Pass.
New Game Mechanics and Features
Treyarch's associate director of design, Matt Scronce, revealed exciting details on the podcast:
- Multiplayer Maps: 16 maps at launch – 12 standard 6v6 maps and 4 Strike maps (playable as 6v6 or 2v2).
- Zombies Mode Returns: With two brand-new maps!
- Omnimovement: A new gameplay mechanic.
- Traditional Scorestreaks: Making a comeback, resetting upon player death.
- Dedicated Melee Weapon Slot: Carry a knife without sacrificing a secondary weapon.
