After a remarkable 25-year journey, Capcom's cherished role-playing game, Breath of Fire IV, has made a triumphant return to PC. Originally launched on the PlayStation in Japan and North America in 2000, and subsequently in Europe in 2001, the game saw a PC port in Europe and Japan in 2003. This timeless classic follows the adventures of Ryu, a protagonist with the unique ability to transform into a dragon, as he and his fellow warriors strive to thwart an emperor's destructive ambitions and save the world.
As part of its ongoing Preservation Program, GOG has meticulously updated Breath of Fire IV to ensure compatibility with modern PCs. The game is now available DRM-free on the GOG platform, offering players a seamless gaming experience. The enhanced version boasts full optimization for Windows 10 and 11, complete with both English and Japanese localizations. Visuals have been significantly improved thanks to an upgraded DirectX renderer, new display options such as Windowed Mode, V-Sync, Anti-Aliasing, and refined gamma correction. Additionally, the audio engine has been overhauled, restoring missing environmental sounds and introducing new configuration options for an immersive auditory experience.
