"Captain America: Brave New World" is set to be a historic entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) as it marks the shortest film in the Captain America series and one of the briefest in the entire MCU catalog. AMC Theatres has announced that the runtime for "Brave New World" is a concise one hour and 58 minutes, making it one of the select few MCU films to clock in under two hours and ranking as the seventh shortest out of 35 MCU films. This is a significant departure from the previous Captain America films, which all exceeded the two-hour mark.
While many of the MCU's shorter films hail from its earlier phases, recent entries like "The Marvels" from 2022, with a runtime of one hour and 45 minutes, have also kept things brief. Other notably short MCU films include "The Incredible Hulk," "Thor: The Dark World," "Thor," "Doctor Strange," and "Ant-Man."

"Brave New World" shares its runtime with "Ant-Man and The Wasp," also at one hour and 58 minutes. In contrast, the longest MCU film to date is "Avengers: Endgame," running for three hours and one minute, followed by "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever," "Eternals," and "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3."
With its release date set for February 14, "Brave New World" is just weeks away. Despite this, the film has reportedly undergone numerous rewrites and reshoots, including scenes involving WWE star Seth Rollins. However, the impact of these changes on the film's runtime remains unclear.
This film marks a new chapter for the Captain America series, as it follows the retirement of Chris Evans' Steve Rogers and introduces Anthony Mackie's Sam Wilson as the new Captain America. Mackie has promised that "Brave New World" will continue the series' tradition of delivering grounded, espionage-driven adventures.
Additionally, "Brave New World" is set to introduce deep-cut characters from Marvel lore, including The Leader, a character teased in the second MCU film, "The Incredible Hulk," and Red Hulk, adding layers of excitement and continuity to the MCU's expansive universe.
