The "I Caught a Shooting Star!" achievement is deceptively simple yet notoriously difficult to find. Its unique nature often leads to players missing it entirely. To unlock it, you must capture the Sandstar, a tiny, glimmering creature resembling a desert mouse, found only at night in the Windward Plains.

Since the main story often keeps you in the Windward Plains during the day, you'll need to advance the in-game time to nightfall. There are two ways to do this:

Fast Travel: Once you've unlocked multiple fast travel points in the Windward Plains, repeatedly fast travel between them. This will gradually advance the time until night falls. This method is available early in the game.

Resting: After completing Chapter 3 and unlocking high-rank content, you can use Guild Points to rest at your camp and select "Nighttime" as the time of day. This method provides more control but requires story progression.

The Sandstar is small and incredibly fast, even for your Seikret. Before the hunt, consider gathering Screamer Pods. These can be obtained from Baunos, small winged monsters found in groups around Areas 11 and 13 of the Windward Plains. They are scavengers, often found near carcasses. While not strictly necessary, Screamer Pods significantly ease the capture process.

Once night falls, head to the midpoint between Areas 11 and 13. Keep a close eye out for the Sandstar. When spotted, chase it at full speed, and if you have them, use a Screamer Pod to stun it. Immediately switch to your Capture Net (the same net used for fishing) and capture the Sandstar. The "I Caught a Shooting Star!" trophy/achievement will unlock, along with the "Ribbon Dream: Amber" nameplate for your Hunter Profile.

That's how to obtain the "I Caught a Shooting Star" trophy/achievement in *Monster Hunter Wilds*. Be sure to check out our other guides, including our cutscene skipping guide!
