Clash of Clans to Remove Troop Training Times in Major Update

Author : Hannah May 14,2025

Clash of Clans, a staple in mobile gaming, is about to undergo a significant transformation that will undoubtedly shake up the gameplay for its dedicated fans. The game's developers, Supercell, have announced they are completely removing troop training times, allowing players to deploy their armies almost instantly. This change aims to speed up battles and enhance the overall gaming experience. However, players should be cautious with their Training Potions and Treats; these items will soon be obsolete as they will be converted to Gems at the end of the month.

While Clash of Clans has been a beloved game for years, it's no secret that certain aspects of the game have started to feel outdated. Supercell has been actively working to modernize the game, and the removal of troop, spell, and siege unit training times is a testament to their commitment to keeping the game fresh and engaging. This follows the removal of training costs in 2022, marking a significant shift in game mechanics.

As of today, Training Potions and Training Treats are being phased out from in-app purchases and chest rewards. They will still be available through the Trader and Gold Pass for a limited time, so it's crucial to use them before they're gone. Supercell is also introducing a new feature called "Match Anytime," which allows players to attack a snapshot of another player's base if no real opponents are available. This feature, already used in Clan Wars and Legend League attacks, will now be a standard option, ensuring you can always engage in battle and earn rewards without affecting the base owner.

In addition to these major changes, keep an eye out for updates such as Army Donations now requiring Elixirs or Dark Elixirs. For more detailed information on these and other changes, be sure to visit the Supercell blog.
