Cursed Objects (also known as "Cursed Possessions") are randomly generated items in Phasmophobia, appearing on various maps depending on game mode and settings. Activating them requires locating and interacting with them within the location.

Unlike standard equipment, Cursed Objects provide game-altering effects, each with a significant drawback. Benefits might include pinpointing the ghost's favorite room or boosting your team, but expect a trade-off: substantial sanity loss, temporary blindness, or unexpected Cursed Hunts. Use them strategically; sometimes, leaving them untouched is the best course of action. Note that Cursed Objects won't appear at all difficulty levels or in Challenge Mode.

Phasmophobia currently features seven Cursed Objects, each with unique abilities and debilitating effects. A common side effect is a drastic sanity reduction for the user. Proximity to the user increases the likelihood of a Cursed Hunt, which is identical to a regular hunt but ignores sanity levels and lasts 20 seconds longer.
