Akupara Games has been prolific lately, releasing several titles. Following their recent deck-building game, Zoeti, comes The Darkside Detective, a puzzle adventure, and its sequel, The Darkside Detective: A Fumble in the Dark (both released simultaneously!).
Exploring the Darkside Detective Universe
The game unfolds in the perpetually gloomy, fog-shrouded town of Twin Lakes, a place where the strange, supernatural, and downright absurd are commonplace. Players control Detective Francis McQueen and his endearingly inept partner, Officer Patrick Dooley, as they navigate the underfunded Darkside Division of the Twin Lakes Police Department.
Nine quirky cases await, immersing players in the hilarious and bizarre world of The Darkside Detective and its equally witty sequel. These point-and-click adventures present a diverse range of challenges, from time travel mysteries and monstrous tentacles to uncovering carnival secrets and confronting mafia zombies. See the action for yourself in the trailer below!
Ready to Investigate?
The game is a playful homage to pop culture, brimming with references to classic horror films, sci-fi shows, and buddy cop movies. Case titles alone hint at the quirky adventures ahead: Malice in Wonderland, Tome Alone, Disorient Express, Police Farce, Don of the Dead, Buy Hard, and Baits Motel.
The game's humor is a standout feature, woven seamlessly into every pixel. The Darkside Detective is available on the Google Play Store for $6.99. A Fumble in the Dark can be played independently of its predecessor, also available on Google Play.
