Deltarune Switch 2 Features
Special Room and More Exclusively for Switch 2
During the latest Nintendo Direct for Switch 2 on April 2, it was announced that Deltarune will be coming to the new console with chapters 3 and 4, along with some exclusive features tailored for the next-generation device.
Toby Fox, the creator of Deltarune, revealed in a Fangamer newsletter that the Switch 2 version will feature a unique "SPECIAL ROOM" designed to utilize the mouse functionality of the new Joy-Cons. Fox explained, "So, we made a very small SPECIAL ROOM which takes advantage of using MOUSE CONTROLS ON TWO CONTROLLERS AT ONCE, only possible on the Nintendo Switch 2!!"
For players using older Switch models, this special room will be accessible with a different control scheme. Furthermore, players can transfer their save files from the Nintendo Switch demo of Deltarune 1 and 2 to the new version, ensuring a seamless gaming experience.
Deltarune Future Chapters Will Be Free
Toby Fox also shared pricing details in the newsletter, setting the cost of Deltarune at $24.99. This price includes Chapters 1 and 2, as well as the newly released Chapters 3 and 4. While Chapters 1 and 2 were initially released for free in 2018 and 2021 respectively, it was previously indicated that Chapters 3-5 would be paid content.
However, Fox has now confirmed that all future chapters will be provided as free updates. He emphasized, "But, it's my hope that as we complete more Chapters, you'll feel like this game was a super super super super good deal."
Additionally, the game's soundtrack will be available on Steam for $14.99, featuring over 150 songs from Chapters 3 and 4. Songs from future chapters will also be added at no extra cost. Deltarune aims to provide exceptional value to its fans by offering future chapters and additional content for free.
DELTARUNE Chapters 1-4 will launch on June 5, 2025, coinciding with the release of the Nintendo Switch 2. The game will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. Stay tuned for more updates by checking out our related article!
