This guide details how to get the Elven ship, Lady Vengeance, sailing in Divinity: Original Sin 2 after escaping Fort Joy. The process involves a series of puzzles and interactions.
Quick Links
The Lady Vengeance's controls aren't at the helm; you must find an unconventional method to start its journey. This involves exploring the ship, interacting with NPCs, and ultimately accessing Magister Dallis' cabin.
Investigate Dead Bodies
Begin by searching the bodies of the magisters and ghosts on deck. A Sodden Diary, found on one of the magisters, contains a password for a stateroom door. You can also obtain the password via a skill check with the northern stateroom door. In addition to the password, you'll need a Strange Gem to interact with the Portside Stateroom door. A magic mirror (south of the stateroom doors) allows for respeccing, useful if you need to improve skills for the password check.
Find the Portside Stateroom
Using the password from the diary (or skill check), access the ship's quarters. Interact with the unconscious Bishop Alexander to find a Strange Gem within his regalia. Use this gem and the password ("Fortitude") on the southern stateroom door to enter Magister Dallis' cabin. This cabin also contains a hidden hatch with two dangerous ghosts and a Teleportation Prism.
Find the Songbook
Inside Dallis' cabin, talk to Tarquin and exhaust all dialogue options with Dallis. Locate the Ancient Empire Songbook on a pedestal. Reading it will reveal the song needed to move the ship. It's advisable to speak to all NPCs before setting sail, as interaction will be unavailable once the ship departs.
Set Sail
Return to the deck and tell Malady you found the songbook. She'll ask you to sing to the ship. Find the dragon figurine to the west of the deck and choose the option to sing. This will start the Lady Vengeance, but be prepared for an immediate ambush from powerful magisters. Ensure your party is ready for a challenging battle.
