Looking back on the year? Snapchat's new 2024 Snap Recap feature makes it easy. Unlike detailed year-end summaries from other platforms like Spotify Wrapped, Snap Recap offers a fun, visual retrospective of your year on Snapchat.
What is Snap Recap?
New for 2024, Snap Recap compiles your year's Snaps into a short video highlight reel. Instead of focusing on statistics, it selects a single Snap from each month, offering a nostalgic journey through your 2024 memories. The recap seamlessly transitions into the Memories feature, allowing you to explore further flashbacks from previous years.
How to Access Your 2024 Snap Recap
Your 2024 Snap Recap is automatically generated and easily accessible. On the main camera screen, swipe up to open Memories. You'll find your Snap Recap prominently displayed as a highlighted video.
Tap the video (avoiding the share icon) to watch your personalized recap. The video plays automatically, showcasing a curated selection of your Snaps. You can tap the screen to advance through the highlights. Save, edit, or share your recap like any other Snap, including posting it to your Story.
Why Don't I Have a Snap Recap?
If your 2024 Snap Recap isn't yet available, don't worry. Snapchat confirms a staggered rollout. The frequency of your Snap usage may also affect its generation; more frequent Snaps increase the likelihood of a recap. Unfortunately, you can't request a recap if one isn't automatically generated.
