Nintendo has unveiled an exciting new addition to their gaming lineup with the announcement of "Donkey Kong Bananza," a 3D platforming action game exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2. Set to launch on July 17, 2025, this game will be available for $69.99. During the Nintendo Direct, fans were treated to a debut gameplay trailer that showcased the thrilling adventures awaiting players.
The official description promises an immersive experience where players will navigate through environments as Donkey Kong, using powerful punches to demolish obstacles and unlock new areas. The game emphasizes exploration and destruction, with players tearing off chunks of terrain to swing and throw, creating a dynamic gameplay experience filled with mayhem, surprises, and, of course, plenty of bananas.
The Nintendo Switch 2, which will be the home for "Donkey Kong Bananza," is set to launch on June 5, 2025, priced at $449.99. This new console comes equipped with a range of accessories including the Nintendo Switch 2 console, Joy-Con 2 controllers (L+R), Joy-Con 2 Grip, Joy-Con 2 Straps, Nintendo Switch 2 Dock, Ultra High-Speed HDMI Cable, Nintendo Switch 2 AC Adapter, and a USB-C Charging Cable.
Additionally, Nintendo has announced a Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World Bundle, priced at $499.99. This bundle includes the console and a download code for "Mario Kart World," which will be available on launch day. "Mario Kart World" itself is priced at $79.99, marking a $10 increase from Nintendo's previous most expensive Switch game.
