Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio Celebrates Like a Dragon's 20th Anniversary
Vote Now for Like a Dragon 20th Anniversary Merchandise! (Until March 21, 2025)
Like a Dragon (LAD) celebrates its 20th anniversary in December 2025! Ryu Ga Gotoku (RGG) Studio has launched a fan voting project to decide which in-game items will become real-life merchandise.
Choose from over 100 items, including lingerie, incense, mahjong tiles, a karaoke microphone, a luxury lighter, 20th-anniversary sake, themed pillows, Kiryu's dragon mask, and many more iconic pieces from the series' history. The winning item, as announced on the RGG voting website, will be produced and released within two years.
Voting began February 8, 2025, and runs until March 21, 2025. One vote per day is allowed. Following the voting period, a separate survey will determine the final design of the winning item.
Could More Yakuza Remakes Be on the Horizon for the 20th Anniversary?
RGG Studio first hinted at their 20th-anniversary plans in a December 8, 2024, Twitter (X) post during their 19th-anniversary celebration. Director and Executive Producer Masayoshi Yokoyama expressed gratitude to fans and outlined plans for various events and announcements leading up to the milestone, including the merchandise voting project.
The 20th-anniversary festivities kick off with the release of Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii on February 20, 2025. While further details on other events or games haven't been announced since the initial video, fans remain hopeful for more significant announcements, perhaps mirroring the 10th anniversary which saw the release of Yakuza 0 and Yakuza Kiwami.

RGG Studio announced the PC requirements for LAD: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii on Twitter (X) on February 10, 2025. The recommended graphics card is an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 or equivalent, easily attainable for most modern gaming PCs.
With releases planned for older generation consoles (PlayStation 4 and Xbox One), the PC specifications are relatively undemanding. RGG Studio also confirmed Steam Deck verification.
SEGA recently released a story trailer on YouTube, showcasing Majima's high-seas adventure narrated by Pirate King Raymond Law (voiced by Samoa Joe).
