Microsoft Edge Game Assist: A Game-Aware Browser Revolutionizing PC Gaming
Microsoft's Edge Game Assist, currently in preview, promises to revolutionize the PC gaming experience. Designed to address the common frustration of alt-tabbing out of games to access browsers, Game Assist offers a streamlined in-game browsing experience. Read on to discover its innovative features.

The Game-Aware Tab: Seamless Browsing While Gaming

Recognizing that a significant portion of PC gamers use browsers concurrently with gameplay, Microsoft developed Edge Game Assist. This overlay, accessible via the Windows Game Bar, eliminates the need for alt-tabbing. It seamlessly integrates with your existing Microsoft Edge profile, providing access to your bookmarks, history, and saved data without requiring re-login.
This innovative browser boasts a "game-aware" tab page. This feature intelligently suggests relevant guides and tips for the game you're currently playing, eliminating the need for manual searches. This tab can even be pinned for real-time access to walkthroughs and strategies.
Currently, automatic game detection is limited to a select group of popular titles during the beta phase:
- Baldur’s Gate 3
- Diablo IV
- Fortnite
- Hellblade II: Senua’s Saga
- League of Legends
- Minecraft
- Overwatch 2
- Roblox
- Valorant
More games will be added over time.
To access Edge Game Assist, download the Microsoft Edge Beta or Preview version and set it as your default browser. Navigate to the settings within Edge and search for "Game Assist" to install the widget. Prepare for a more efficient and immersive gaming experience!
