Relics are powerful items that provide a significant boost to your Nightfarer during every run of Elden Ring: Nightreign. It turns out, however, there is a cap on how many you can store in your hideaway.
A user on the r/Nightreign subreddit shared an image from their game today, showing a special notification while attempting to start an expedition. The message read: "Cannot launch expedition: Too many relics in possession." It advised players to "Please use the relic rite menu to sell off spares."

While it’s easy to speculate this ties into a general item limit of 999, the actual threshold remains unclear unless you plan to grind out that many relics.
There are several reasons to clear your relic storage, primarily for resources. However, if you’re just running through repeated cycles in Elden Ring: Nightreign, it’s easy to lose track of how many you’ve accumulated.
Comments on the thread highlighted an ongoing critique regarding relic management in Nightreign. As more relics accumulate, keeping track of them becomes challenging, suggesting a need for better filtering options to sort through the growing pile.
This is already somewhat cumbersome for me, given my decent stockpile of basic relics. I can only imagine the situation for this Redditor with hundreds upon hundreds of items. While this might not affect most players immediately, it could become a notable issue as weeks and months pass in Nightreign. At the very least, it serves as a good reminder to periodically clean out unused relics. We have plenty of Nightreign tips and tricks to help you defeat all eight Nightlord Bosses.
