Revue Starlight Re LIVE: Curtain Call on September 30th
The mobile game, Revue Starlight Re LIVE, based on the popular anime series, is officially ending service. Servers will shut down on September 30th, 2024, at 07:00 UTC, marking the end of nearly six years on Android.
Why the Shutdown?
While initially a promising extension of the Revue Starlight universe, featuring a strategic battle system and appealing visuals, the game ultimately struggled. Factors contributing to its closure include:
- Repetitive events and reused assets.
- Costly and overwhelming battle passes.
- Unpopular narrative choices, such as the abrupt character shift from The Giraffe.
Despite these challenges, the game boasted a positive aspect: its soundtrack, featuring music from the anime, and high-quality 3D graphics and Live2D animations.
A Final Farewell?
Although the game's lifespan is concluding, players still have a few weeks to enjoy remaining content. August and September will see a series of events, including:
- A "Thank You For Everything" campaign offering 10 free daily pulls.
- A two-month birthday celebration event.
- Two "New Stage Girl Gacha" events at the start of each month.
Interested players can download the game from the Google Play Store before its closure. For more gaming news, check out our other articles, such as the announcement of Netflix's The Dragon Prince: Xadia on Android.
