Nintendo officially inaugurates its San Francisco store today, located at 331 Powell Street in Union Square. This marks Nintendo's second official retail space in the U.S., following the highly successful New York location, which previously operated under the name Nintendo World Store before undergoing renovations and rebranding as Nintendo NY, reopening in 2016.
IGN visited the San Francisco store to explore its offerings and had the opportunity to sit down with Nintendo of America President Doug Bowser. During the conversation, Bowser shared insights into why Nintendo chose to open its first West Coast store now.
