April is shaping up to be an action-packed month for fans of Marvel Contest of Champions, with the introduction of the much-anticipated champion, Spider-Woman. Jessica Drew, known as Spider-Woman, has a fascinating origin story. As a child, she suffered from illness due to uranium exposure near her home. In a desperate bid to save her, her father, a brilliant geneticist, conducted an experimental treatment by injecting her with a concoction of spider DNA. After a prolonged recovery period, Jessica not only overcame the adverse effects of the experiment but also gained incredible spider-like abilities, ultimately becoming Spider-Woman. Players can look forward to adding this new champion to their roster starting April 17th.
Before Spider-Woman makes her entrance, another intriguing champion, Lumatrix, will join the fray on April 9th. Known as one of the most formidable assassins created by the Founders, Lumatrix is designed for stealthy infiltration and lethal elimination, harnessing the power of light in his attacks.
What Else Is New?
On the narrative front, Act 9 Chapter 2, titled "Inquisition," unfolds with dramatic developments. Carina suffers severe injuries after a confrontation with the forces of Ouroborus, while Doctor Doom surprisingly allies with the Fantastic Four. The threat of Chronoserpent corruption looms large, introducing a new villain, Lotan, into the mix.
The excitement continues with the new Event Quest, "Spy Games," launching on April 9th and running through to May 7th. Black Widow embarks on an investigation into the enigmatic Eidols, enlisting Spider-Woman's help to unravel the mystery.
Dark Phoenix is set to make a thrilling return in the Side Quest "Dark Bounties." She has placed bounties on several champions, challenging players to track them down and claim their rewards.
The "Incursions: Dark Phoenix Saga Sector" also makes a comeback, inviting players to assemble their most powerful Saga champions to battle for Dark Plumes, Light Essence, Tier 7 Basic Fragments, and 7-Star Class Signature Stones.
