This guide details how to acquire Machine Arms in NieR: Automata, a rare crafting material crucial for weapon and pod upgrades. Early acquisition can significantly boost your character's strength.
Quick Links
Obtaining Machine Arms early in the game presents a challenge. While they have a chance to drop from defeated small machines, the drop rate is significantly lower at lower enemy levels.
Farming Machine Arms
To increase your chances of obtaining Machine Arms early, focus on efficiently eliminating large numbers of small machines. After completing Chapter 4, a highly effective farming location becomes available.
Use fast travel to reach the Desert: Housing Complex access point. Proceed deeper into the ruins to find the pit where you first encountered Adam. This pit continuously respawns small machines, providing a consistent source of potential drops. While the enemy level is relatively low, resulting in a low drop rate for Machine Arms, the high spawn rate makes this the most efficient early-game farming method. This location is also beneficial for farming Titanium Alloy.
A Drop Rate Plug-In Chip can slightly improve your yield, but the increase is marginal.
