Naoki Yoshida, the renowned producer and director of Final Fantasy 14, has put to rest the swirling rumors about a potential Final Fantasy 9 remake. This clarification comes after the recent FF14 collaboration event, which included references to the beloved 1999 Japanese role-playing game, Final Fantasy 9.
Speculation had been rife online that the FF14 event might hint at an upcoming remake announcement. However, Yoshida has firmly dismissed these speculations, highlighting the independent nature of the collaboration.
"The original concept for Final Fantasy XIV is to serve as a theme park for the Final Fantasy franchise," Yoshida explained in a recent interview with JPGames. "We chose to incorporate Final Fantasy IX because of this theme park idea."
