Final Fantasy XIV Offers Free Login Campaign Through February 6th
Square Enix has re-launched its popular Free Login Campaign for Final Fantasy XIV, giving players with inactive accounts a chance to return to Eorzea for free. This campaign runs until February 6th, 2025, and is available across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms.
This four-day free trial begins the moment eligible players log into the game launcher. Eligibility requires a previously purchased and registered FFXIV account that has been inactive for at least 30 days prior to the campaign start. Accounts suspended or terminated for violating terms of service are excluded. Players can verify their eligibility status through the Mog Station.
The campaign, which started January 9th, 2025, arrives hot on the heels of Patch 7.15, featuring new side quests within the Dawntrail expansion, including the return of the Hildibrand adventures and a fresh Custom Delivery client. Producer and director Naoki Yoshida's recent New Year's message confirmed upcoming Patches 7.2 and 7.3 for 2025, alongside smaller updates, and hinted at the direction of Dawntrail's main storyline, sparking much player speculation.
While major content updates are still on the horizon, this free period allows lapsed players to rejoin the action and catch up. The Heavensturn event, running until January 16th, offers a minion reward to all participants, and Patch 7.16, concluding the Dawntrail Role Quest side series, arrives on January 21st. This provides returning players with ample content to enjoy during their free trial. The mystery of Dawntrail's future remains, with Square Enix yet to reveal its 2025 plans.
