Secure a Free Bow Early in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
Early-game combat in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 can be challenging, leaving Henry ill-equipped. Fortunately, acquiring the Dogwood Village Bow early and without cost is entirely possible. This guide outlines how to obtain this valuable weapon.
After parting ways with Hans, securing entry to the wedding requires either taking a blacksmith or miller job. Even if you bypass the blacksmith position, its map marker conveniently leads to the bow's location. If you choose the blacksmith path, remember to also seek the hermit's sword later.
The blacksmith's workshop is situated in Tachov, north of Troskowitz (the prologue's end point). Follow the westward road from Troskowitz, then continue north. At the road fork, with a smaller road branching west, turn right into a cluster of trees. This inconspicuous area houses a small training ground.
Locate the archery target; collect the arrows for free ammunition. To the target's right, you'll find the Dogwood Village Bow resting against a tree. Nearby, you can also gather brew and mushrooms. Once you've collected your supplies, resume your quest.
Alternative Acquisition Methods
While purchasable from Huntsman's Son Vitek in Tachov, the Dogwood Village Bow isn't the most powerful ranged weapon. Considering its proximity to the free bow, purchasing it isn't cost-effective. However, Vitek offers superior weapons, and alchemy provides a lucrative income stream through herb gathering and potion brewing.
Regardless of your weapon acquisition method, having a ranged option is beneficial, especially with fixed difficulty settings. Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2's combat, while similar to its predecessor, may not suit all players. Ranged combat offers a viable alternative.
After forging a sword (if you chose the blacksmith path), save your game. Otherwise, proceed to the miller to continue the main storyline. Either way, a ranged weapon significantly enhances your combat capabilities in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
