HoYoverse has officially revealed the next major update for Genshin Impact — Version 5.7, titled "A Space and Time for You", launching on June 18th. This highly anticipated update delivers a mix of compelling story progression, exciting new gameplay features, and fresh character debuts that promise to reshape the battlefield.
Skirk Makes Her Debut in Version 5.7
One of the most talked-about arrivals is Skirk, a mysterious figure deeply connected to the Abyss and known as the enigmatic mentor of Childe. Skirk brings a completely unique combat kit centered around dual fighting styles, offering dynamic play mechanics that adapt mid-battle. Her signature ability, Serpent’s Subtlety, introduces a new layer of strategy, enhancing her versatility in both solo and team compositions.
Alongside her is Dahlia, a new 4-star Hydro character and the Deacon of the Church of Favonius. Designed as a dedicated support, Dahlia excels at enabling teammates with healing, buffs, and Hydro application, making him a valuable addition to various team builds.
The first phase of Version 5.7 features Skirk, Dahlia, and a rerun banner for Shenhe, while the second half welcomes back fan favorites: Mavuika, the Pyro Archon, and the ever-popular Emilie.

Version 5.7 picks up right after the pivotal moments of the Bedtime Story questline. As the Traveler continues their journey with their sibling, the Abyss Order begins its advance into Natlan, escalating tensions across the region. Mavuika and her forces prepare for the coming conflict, standing firm against the encroaching threat.
In a surprising turn, Dainsleif returns in a new, powerful form, stepping onto the battlefield to aid the Traveler during critical moments—marking a major development in the overarching lore.
New Tactical Mini-Game from Sumeru Akademiya
The Sumeru Akademiya introduces a simulated adventure event blending tactical decision-making with procedural randomness. Players will assemble a team of Companion Pieces and choose between two distinct routes: the rainforest or the desert, each offering unique challenges, events, and rewards based on their choices.
Stygian Onslaught: A New Permanent Combat Mode
Genshin Impact Version 5.7 adds a permanent endgame mode called Stygian Onslaught. This challenging new system features three rotating bosses and six difficulty tiers, scaling with player progression. Clearing stages rewards players with valuable Artifacts and a brand-new item: the Dust of Enlightenment. This item allows players to re-roll substats on Level 20 Artifacts, offering greater control over gearing strategies.
Introducing Travelers’ Tales: Gilded Chapter
For players looking for a more relaxed experience, a new slice-of-life series, Travelers’ Tales: Gilded Chapter, debuts in this update.
