In *Path of Exile 2*, navigating through the myriad of quests can be a bit tricky, especially when some quests aren't immediately added to your quest log. A prime example of this is the collection of Golden Idols in Act 3. These items are categorized as Quest Items, but they function differently from typical quest items in the game.
Unlike regular Quest Items that often trigger a quest in your log and lead to specific interactions with NPCs or locations for quest progression and rewards, Golden Idols don't initiate a quest upon pickup. Instead, these unique items can be sold for a substantial amount of gold, and there are five Golden Idols to gather in total.
How To Get Golden Idols In Path of Exile 2
Once you reach Act 3 and explore the ruins of the Vaal civilization beneath the Ziggurat Encampment, you'll be transported back in time through a portal to the once-majestic Vaal city, Utzaal, known as The Drowned City in the present day. While the city's splendor might catch your eye, keep your focus on finding the Golden Idols scattered throughout Utzaal and the connected area, Aggorat.
In Utzaal, you can find three Golden Idols:
Glorious Idol
Golden Idol
Grand Idol
In Aggorat, you can find two more:
Exceptional Idol
Elegant Idol
These idols are not random drops from enemies but are found on the ground or on pedestals, usually in side rooms connected to the main areas.
What To Do With Golden Idols In PoE 2
Once you've collected a Golden Idol, head back to the Ziggurat Encampment to trade it for Gold. Not all vendors will accept these unique items, so make your way to the north side of the encampment and speak with Oswald. He'll comment on your Idol, and when you access the Buy & Sell screen, you can sell each Idol for a significant amount of Gold:
- Golden Idol: 500 Gold
- Grand Idol: 1000 Gold
- Glorious Idol: 1500 Gold
- Elegant Idol: 1000 Gold
- Exceptional Idol: 1500 Gold
If you manage to find all five Golden Idols during your exploration of Utzaal and Aggorat, you'll earn a total of 6000 Gold. Since these items only serve as high-value sellables and take up inventory space, consider portaling back to the encampment to sell them and free up your bag space.
