Pick Up the Canker Side Quest

To pick up the "Canker" quest, head over to Semine and speak with Gules. You can initiate this quest either during Lord Semine’s wedding to Agnes (simply speak to him while he’s enjoying a drink), or earlier if you visit Semine while Gules is patrolling. Engage him in conversation about his past as a bandit leader and volunteer to help him eliminate the remnants of his old gang. Canker, the first target, will be marked on your map.

Once the quest begins, Canker’s location will appear on your map—north of Nebakov Mill. As you approach, keep an eye out for random bandits who might ambush you along the way. While stealthily avoiding them is possible, engaging in combat or simply running past them works just as well. These encounters are generally straightforward, though losing health mid-quest can be frustrating.
Canker’s hideout is nestled in the mountainous terrain. Similar to finding the Hermit’s house in "Wedding Crashers," you’ll need to squeeze through a narrow gap to reach it. Be prepared for battle before entering, as several bandits will surround you, including Canker himself.
While some bandits might flee during the fight, ensure you defeat most of them to progress. Fortunately, Canker himself won’t escape, guaranteeing you can complete the objective.
Finish the Quest and Return to Gules
After defeating Canker and the other bandits, loot Canker’s body. You’ll specifically need the Light Mace, but feel free to take any additional items you find. With your spoils in hand, head back to Gules to conclude the quest.
Upon finishing "Canker," you’ll need to wait a full in-game day before you can pick up the next quest tied to Gules’ former comrades. Once the timer passes, return to Gules to start "Handsome Charlie."
