In the vast world of *Monster Hunter Wilds*, securing resources like Sharp Fangs is crucial for crafting and advancing your gear. These fangs are essential for forging beginner-tier sets such as Chatacabra and Talioth armor, and you can start your hunt early in the game by exploring the Windward Plains.
How to Get Sharp Fangs in Monster Hunter Wilds
To begin your quest for Sharp Fangs, take on one of the initial optional quests like “Beware the Chatacabra” or “The Desert is Demanding.” These quests will lead you to the Windward Plains, where you have a generous 50-minute window to explore. Preparing a meal before you set out can boost your performance, so don't skip this step.
Head east to Area 8, the largest region in the Windward Plains, where you'll encounter various smaller monsters. While several of these can drop Sharp Fangs, your primary target should be the Gaijos.
Gaijos
Gaijos are small leviathan monsters resembling crocodiles with unique snouts, often found near or in riverbeds. Use the interactive map to locate them by looking for purple diamonds near water sources. These creatures are relatively easy to defeat and are guaranteed to drop 1 x Sharp Fang upon carving their carcasses. With about four to five Gaijos available in the Windward Plains upon entering, you can repeatedly undertake the optional quests to farm more Sharp Fangs efficiently.
Talioth
Another monster to target for Sharp Fangs, though with less certainty, is the Talioth. These bipedal creatures roam in small packs in Area 8 and occasionally in Area 13. While they are slightly tougher than Gaijos, they are still manageable with starter weapons. Carving their carcasses may yield Sharp Fangs, alongside other items like Talioth Scales. Additionally, hunting Talioths can help you complete the “The Desert is Demanding” quest, which requires you to kill 8 Talioths.
With these strategies, you'll be well on your way to farming Sharp Fangs in *Monster Hunter Wilds*. For more tips and guides, including how to master the Great Sword with all its moves and combos, be sure to explore our other content.
