Path of Exile 2's Endgame Rituals: A Comprehensive Guide
Path of Exile 2 introduces several endgame events, including Breaches, Expeditions, Delirium, and Rituals. This guide focuses on Rituals, a revived mechanic from previous PoE leagues. We'll cover initiation, mechanics, the Pinnacle boss, and the unique reward system.
Identifying and Initiating Rituals

On the Atlas, Ritual Altar map nodes are marked with a red pentagram icon. A Ritual Precursor Tablet, slotted into a completed Lost Tower, guarantees a Ritual encounter on a chosen node.
Once in a map with a Ritual, several Altars will spawn. Each map has a shared random modifier affecting enemies and mechanics. These modifiers might include massive rat swarms or life-draining pools of blood.
To start a Ritual, interact with an Altar after noting its modifiers. A large circle will appear; remain within it to fight the summoned enemies. Leaving the circle prematurely ends the event without rewards. A map is considered complete when all Rituals are successfully finished.
The Pinnacle Boss: The King in the Mists
The Ritual event offers a chance to obtain "An Audience With The King," a currency item granting access to The Crux Of Nothingness, where The King in the Mists resides. Use this item via your Realmgate on the Atlas.
The King in the Mists' mechanics mirror his campaign counterpart. For practice, revisit Act 1 Cruel difficulty and create a new instance of Freythorn. Defeating him yields 2 Ritual Passive Skill points, a chance at unique items, powerful currencies, and Omen items.
The Ritual Passive Skill Tree

The Atlas Passive Skill Tree includes a Ritual section, enhancing rewards by reducing Tribute requirements, improving rewards, and increasing unique currency drop rates. Access it via the top-left button on the Atlas map, then look to the bottom right.
The tree features eight Notable nodes and eight nodes increasing King in the Mists difficulty. Each King in the Mists defeat grants 2 skill points, necessitating increased difficulty for each new Notable node.
Prioritize these Notable nodes: "From The Mists," "Spreading Darkness," and "Ominous Portents" for increased rewards with minimal drawbacks. Then, consider "Tempting Offers" and "He Approaches" for higher-value Omens and "An Audience With The King."
Notable Ritual Passive Skills:
| Notable Delirium Passive | Effect | Requirements |
|---|---|---|
| Promised Devotion | Ritual Altar skills deal 25% increased Damage. Deferring Favours requires 50% less Tribute, appearing 50% sooner | N/A |

| Reinvigorated Sacrifices | Revived monsters gain 20% Toughness and deal 10% more damage, but no longer penalize Tribute. | From The Mists |
| Spreading Darkness | Maps always contain 4 Ritual Altars | N/A |
| Between Two Worlds | Rituals always contain a Wildwood Wisp, increasing Tribute earned | Spreading Darkness |

| Tempting Offers | Re-roll Favours an extra time at 25% reduced Tribute cost | N/A |
Ritual Rewards: Tribute and Favours
Completed Rituals award Tribute, a temporary currency exchanged for randomized Favours. More Altars completed increase Tribute and unlock more Favours, ranging from Magic items and low-level currencies to Rare gear and high-tier currencies. "An Audience With The King" is only obtainable through Favours.
Omen Currencies
Omens are powerful items among Favour rewards, enhancing other Currency items. They are consumed upon use. Examples include Omens of Annulment and Alchemy, modifying the effects of their respective orbs. Omens are highly valuable and can be traded for substantial amounts of other high-value currencies.
All PoE 2 Omen Currencies:

- Omen of Dextral Alchemy
