League of Legends Hextech Chest Brought Back After Fan Feedback

League of Legends is responding to fan feedback by reintroducing Hextech Chests. Dive into this article to discover more about the upcoming updates and what's on the horizon for LoL.

League of Legends Back Tracks on Their Unpopular Changes

Hextech Chests Are Coming Back

League of Legends (LoL) is set to bring back Hextech Chests following a wave of fan feedback. On February 27, 2025, Riot Games released a developer update on their website, complemented by a detailed video on their YouTube channel, outlining the forthcoming changes.

Riot Games admitted that their recent alterations fell short of fan expectations, stating, "Recently, we’ve made a number of changes that didn’t hit the mark for everyone. We’ve been listening to your feedback, and it’s clear that there are areas where we need to adjust."

The reintroduction of Hextech Chests was a key demand from the community. LoL recognized the significance of these chests, noting, "It’s clear that for many of you, Hextech Chests weren’t just a way to get stuff, they were an important part of making your time in League feel rewarding. We didn’t fully grasp how much this mattered to you, and that led us to make changes that missed the mark."

Starting with patch 25.05, players will once again be able to earn up to 10 Hextech Chests and keys per act. Eight of these chests will be available through the free pass, with the remaining two obtainable through the Honor system.

Exalted Morderkaiser Delayed and More Fan Feedback Changes

Riot Games also announced a delay for the upcoming Exalted Mordekaiser skin, stating their intent to "take more time to make sure it better delivers on its core fantasy." This delay extends to the entire Exalted skin line, meaning fans won't see a new skin in every Act this year as originally planned.

In response to further fan feedback, LoL will replace one of the non-Prestige skins with 25 Mythic Essence, addressing concerns about the scarcity of Mythic Essence on the paid Pass and the overrepresentation of champions in seasonal themes.

Recognizing the importance of champion accessibility, LoL will lower the Blue Essence cost for all champions by 50% starting with patch 25.05, following recent discussions about blue essence and champion shards.

Additionally, Riot Games has decided to reverse their earlier decision to reduce the frequency of Clash events. They are reinstating a monthly schedule, with March’s event featuring ARURF and a regular Summoner's Rift Clash scheduled for April.

Blue Essence Emporium and Your Shop Returns

In response to fan demand, LoL is bringing back the popular Blue Essence Emporium and Your Shop. Your Shop will return in patch 25.06, followed by the Emporium in patch 25.07.

Riot Games emphasized their commitment to continuous improvement, stating, "We know getting League to the right place isn’t about just one set of changes. It’s about continually refining and improving the game in ways that make it better. We think today’s updates are an important step, and we’ll keep tracking how these changes feel, talking with all of you about how things are landing, and making adjustments."

With these responsive actions, it's evident that Riot Games is dedicated to listening to their community and making adjustments to enhance the League of Legends experience. The game remains available for free-to-play on PC. For the latest updates and news, be sure to visit our League of Legends page.
