Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) has appointed Hideaki Nishino as its sole CEO, effective April 1, 2025. This announcement, part of a broader company restructuring, also revealed the promotion of Sony CFO Hiroki Totoki to President and CEO of Sony Corporation, replacing Kenichiro Yoshida. Lin Tao, SVP of finance, corporate development, and strategy, will assume the CFO role.
This leadership change follows last year's announcement splitting SIE leadership between Nishino and Hermen Hulst after Jim Ryan's retirement. Hulst retains his position as head of PlayStation Studios, while Nishino now assumes full responsibility for SIE operations and the platform business group.
Nishino, a Sony employee since 2000, previously served as SVP of the platform experience group. In his statement, he expressed his honor at leading SIE, emphasizing the importance of technology and creativity in delivering engaging entertainment experiences. He highlighted plans for PlayStation community growth through IP expansion and technological innovation, thanking Hulst for his continued contributions.
