Zynga is bringing a nostalgic thrill to their game Custom Street Racer 2, also known as CSR2, with an exciting crossover event celebrating the 40th anniversary of the iconic 1985 film, Back to the Future, directed by Robert Zemeckis.
CSR2 Is Taking You Back to the Future
Starting today, players can collect and race the legendary DeLorean Time Machine from the first film. While it doesn't come with any performance boosts or special abilities, it's a fully drivable car that adds a unique touch to your garage. Beyond the car, CSR2 is rolling out a comprehensive Back to the Future-themed experience.
The crossover features a custom in-game UI inspired by the film, a brand-new narrative, and multiple events. There will be three flash events dedicated to the Time Machine, along with a community competition. Zynga has confirmed that additional themed events will continue to be released throughout the year, making this more than just a one-time update. Currently, CSR2 is hosting quizzes on their social media platforms where you can participate and win goodies. Check them out [ttpp].
Meanwhile, catch a glimpse of how the past is meeting the future in CSR2 in the promotional video below.
Sadly, No Free Trips to 1955!
Although the game won't let you travel to 1955 like in the movie or even Reverse:1999, this CSR2 x Back to the Future collaboration is truly one of a kind. The legendary gull-winged ride from the first film is now drivable in-game, which is quite exciting in itself.
Emphasizing this unique collaboration, Sam Cooper, Zynga’s Vice President of Games, called the Time Machine one of the most recognizable and beloved picture cars in history. He highlighted the excitement of letting players virtually race the car while celebrating the movie’s milestone anniversary.
What do you think about this crossover? Will you be driving the DeLorean? You can grab Custom Street Racer 2 from the Google Play Store to snag the new car.
