Disneyland Paris has unveiled thrilling new details about its upcoming Lion King-themed ride, including fresh concept images and a Fall 2025 construction start date.
A Royal Expansion Coming to Disney Adventure World
The first-ever Lion King themed land will become a centerpiece of the transformed Walt Disney Studios Park (soon to be Disney Adventure World). The ambitious water ride will immerse guests in iconic moments from the 1994 animated classic, featuring a towering 120-foot replica of Pride Rock alongside dining, shopping, and character experiences.
Newly released concept art (shown above) offers a glimpse of the attraction's animatronic figures, showcasing young Simba, Timon, and Pumbaa feasting on grubs in a lush jungle setting. The ride will also thrill visitors with a dramatic 52-foot drop – slightly taller than Tiana's Bayou Adventure.
Part of Disney Adventure World's Grand Transformation
The Lion King attraction will debut after the 2026 opening of World of Frozen, forming part of the massive Disney Adventure World expansion that will double the park's current size. Other planned additions include:
- The Tangled-themed "Raiponce Spin" ride featuring Mandy Moore reprising her role as Rapunzel
- The first-ever Up-themed attraction - a spinning carousel offering aerial park views
Red Carpet Premieres Coming Spring 2025
Guests will first experience the park's transformation through the new World Premiere entrance opening May 15, 2025, designed to evoke Hollywood glamour. The adjoining World Premiere Plaza will feature Broadway-inspired theaters hosting productions like:
- TOGETHER: A Pixar Musical Adventure
- Mickey and the Magician
- Frozen: A Musical Invitation
