Solving the Fountain of Confession Puzzle in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle
Following the Sacred Wounds puzzle and escape from the Vatican's underground, Indy uses the scroll from the Giant's tomb to locate the Fountain of Confession. Remember to photograph all clues for Adventure Points!
Exit Antonio's office (like in the Sacred Wounds mission) and use your journal's map to find the courtyard stairs leading to the puzzle's start.
First, retrieve the fountain key from the chest near the construction area. This unlocks the storage room beside the fountain.
Use your whip to rappel to the rooftop, then swing to the window, returning you to the fountain's upper level. You'll see two dragon statues. Swing to the second statue and grab its claw to activate a lever.
Use the lever to rotate the statue to face its counterpart. Return to the first statue; its claw is missing!
Locate the fallen claw on the scaffolding below. Rappelling down triggers a cutscene with Gina Lombardi, who assists you. Retrieve the claw.
Return to the statue, attach the claw, and rotate it to face the other. This rotates the ground-level fountain statue, revealing the next stage. Rappel down.
Use your whip to pull the fountain statue, revealing a gate blocked by three statues. A lever appears; Indy and Gina activate it, revealing the first wall puzzle (a baptism scene). Examine the inscriptions for hints and Adventure Points.
Position the larger male statue under the water bucket, activate the water mechanism, then push the statue to "baptize" the smaller one. This moves the left gate statue.
Reactivate the lever for the second puzzle. Manipulate the stone path layers using the handles to move the angel figure to the right side of the wall.
This moves the remaining gate statue. Finally, push the center statue through the gate, activating the spiral stairway to the next area.
Congratulations! You've solved the Fountain of Confession puzzle!
