Infinity Nikki and its much-anticipated 1.5 update have landed on Steam, but instead of celebrations, players are met with a flurry of drama. Infold Games' stylish dress-up adventure, which transitioned from Epic Game Store exclusivity to Valve's digital platform, has been overshadowed by a series of technical glitches, unexpected design changes, and demanding outfit requirements. Amidst player frustration, Infold has issued an apology and promised compensation, yet the battle for Infinity Nikki's future is far from settled.

PC players eager to dive into Infinity Nikki were greeted with a host of issues ranging from game crashes to overall instability. While technical problems at launch are not uncommon, the community's discontent extends beyond mere performance. The introduction of two new five-star outfits, Snowbound Ballad and Undying Ember, each comprising 11 pieces, has raised concerns. This means players might need up to 220 pulls—and significant spending—to complete these sets, a sharp increase from what was previously expected.
Adding to the turmoil, Infold extended the Crown of Miraland: Peak Arena event from two to three weeks, causing confusion and frustration. As technical issues persisted and monetization strategies intensified, the Chinese player base took to the social media platform RedNote to voice their concerns. This sparked a global movement, with players calling for a boycott of Infinity Nikki on Steam, urging others to leave negative reviews and uninstall the game across all platforms.
Reddit user kiaxxl emphasized the importance of holding back on pulls for a few days to send a message to the game's digital income trackers. "For gacha games, tracking how successful a new batch of content is usually measured on the first few days. Holding back your pulls for a couple of days can help show we want IN to remain fun and fair for all players," they stated in a call-to-action post.
The backlash has had an impact, as evidenced by Infinity Nikki's "Mixed" rating on Steam, where players have left negative reviews to caution newcomers until their demands are met. In response, Infold issued an apology letter across its official channels, acknowledging the technical issues and promising improved communication about future adjustments.
Apology Letter Regarding Version 1.5 Gaming Experience
Dear Stylists,
Hope this message finds you well.
First and foremost, we would like to extend our sincerest apologies. We are truly sorry that we were unable to provide you with a stable experience upon the release of the new… pic.twitter.com/YEjpGQpKho— Infinity Nikki (@InfinityNikkiEN) April 29, 2025
Infold's apology included promises to revert Mira Crown to end on May 16 and start the next season on the same day, along with compensation in the form of 10 Revelation Crystals, 10 Resonance Crystals, and 1200 Diamonds. While some see this as progress, others remain skeptical, particularly about the decision to maintain the 11-piece outfit requirement for future five-star sets.
I wish you would finally chance the drop rate.. it cant be that i need 200 pulls to get a 5star and then you drop like 5 banners within weeks?! Make the rate lower or give us more diamonds to be able to get crystals.. this is not fun!

Despite the partial victory, boycotters are urging the community to keep the pressure on. Reddit user EdensAsmr warned, "Think about it: CN players are pointing out that if we accept the 11-piece outfits and pity as it is, most new 5 stars will **be** 11 pieces. Imagine if every new major update has two 11-piece 5-star banners? That means you have to save even more to be able to handle it, and 70-80 pulls per patch will **not** cut it."
