LEGO Announces a Jurassic Park T-Rex Skeleton Set That’s Over 3 Feet Long

Author : Lily Apr 03,2025

LEGO has unveiled its largest Jurassic World set to date: a colossal T-rex skeleton that spans over three feet in length. This impressive set includes minifigures of Dr. Ellie Sattler and Dr. Alan Grant, iconic characters from the original Jurassic Park film where the skeleton is famously displayed in the visitor center. Priced at $249.99, the set will be available for purchase at the LEGO Store starting March 12 for LEGO Insiders (sign up for free here) and March 15 for the general public.

LEGO Jurassic World Dinosaur Fossils: Tyrannosaurus Rex

Release Date: March 15 (March 12 for Insiders)
Price: $249.99
Pieces: 3,145
Ages: 18+
Dimensions: L: 105cm (41.3in) / H: 33cm (12.9in)

This set, comprising 3,145 pieces, is tailored for adults aged 18 and above, focusing on display rather than play. It may incorporate advanced building techniques, which could be challenging for younger builders.

It's difficult to appreciate the scale of this set from images alone. The inclusion of Dr. Grant and Dr. Sattler minifigures provides some perspective, but the skeleton truly measures over three feet when fully assembled. The skull of this set closely resembles the existing LEGO T-rex skull, which my son has built and looks fantastic. However, the complete skeleton significantly enhances the overall impact of this new set.

The T-rex skeleton features articulated joints, allowing for various posing options. The head can move, the jaw can open, and the arms and tail can be adjusted. As with many LEGO movie-themed sets, this one includes hidden Easter eggs to discover during the building process. It also comes with a display stand and an informational plaque detailing the T-rex's diet, habitat, and more.

While LEGO's Jurassic World collection may not be as extensive as its LEGO Star Wars or LEGO Harry Potter lines, it is rapidly expanding. Personally, I'm excited to see more adult-oriented LEGO sets like this T-rex skeleton added to the lineup in the future.
