The upcoming update for *Marvel Rivals* has sparked a lot of interest, especially regarding the possibility of a rank reset. Players are keen to maintain their standings, and the question on everyone's mind is whether *Marvel Rivals* will implement a rank reset for Season 1.

In most live-service games, the start of a new season usually means a clean slate for Ranked mode standings. This gives everyone an equal chance to adapt to new updates and climb the ranks. Generally, updates in games like *Marvel Rivals* occur every few months, allowing players ample time to reach their desired ranks before any reset. However, NetEase Games often deviates from the norm.

NetEase initially planned to introduce a rank reset with the mid-season update for Season 1, scheduled for February 21, 2025. This decision coincided with the introduction of two new heroes, The Thing and Human Torch, which could significantly alter the game's meta. However, the community's reaction was overwhelmingly negative, prompting NetEase to reconsider.

In response to player feedback, *Marvel Rivals* announced, “After the release of Dev Talk 10 regarding the seasonal rank adjustment, we received a wealth of feedback from the community. A common concern was the pressure associated with having a rank reset every half-season, which has made participating in competitive mode less enjoyable. In light of the community’s input, we have decided to make some changes to optimize the rank system.”

The team further clarified, “When the second half of the season begins, there will be no rank reset. Players will retain their ranks and scores from the end of the first half. To earn new rewards, players simply need to complete 10 matches in Competitive mode and meet the relevant conditions by the end of the season. Rewards will include a new Gold rank costume and a variety of Crests of Honor, featuring distinct designs for Grandmaster, Celestial, Eternity, and One Above All.”

This decision is particularly beneficial for players in the top ranks, providing them with additional time to compete at the highest level. It also highlights NetEase's responsiveness to player feedback, showcasing their commitment to enhancing the gaming experience based on community input.

What Is New in the Marvel Rivals Season 1 Mid Season Update?

Beyond the rank reset decision, the Season 1 mid-season update for *Marvel Rivals* will introduce The Thing and Human Torch to the roster. Additionally, the update will bring significant adjustments to the game. While specific details on character buffs and nerfs are yet to be disclosed, players are eager to see how these changes will impact the game's balance.

So, to answer the burning question: *Marvel Rivals* will not have a mid-season rank reset for Season 1. For those looking for more information, here are counters for all the heroes in the hero shooter.
